The Triffids - Born Sandy Devotional

Recorded just after The Triffids relocated to London from its native Perth, this 1986 release was much of the world's first introduction to the Triffids' broodingly atmospheric sound. Alternating between the shimmering, lovely '80s pop of "Chicken Killer" and the experimentalism of the mysterious "Tarrilup Bridge," the album also conjures the band's contemporary countryman Nick Cave on songs like the dark ballad "Life of Crime," while the cavernous "Stolen Property" and the country-tinged "Tender Is the Night" and my favourite ‘Wide Open Road’ remain timeless classics.

This is the Re-Issued, Deluxe Edition, extra disc with many wonderful surprises.
